Manchester United Thrash Chelsea 4-0 in Premier League Opener
Rashford Shines with Two Goals
United Dominate at Old Trafford
Manchester United made a resounding statement in their Premier League opener on Sunday, cruising to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford was the star of the show, scoring two goals to lead the Red Devils to a dominant win.
Rashford opened the scoring in the 18th minute, latching onto a through ball from Bruno Fernandes and calmly slotting it past Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. The England international doubled his tally just before the half-hour mark, this time finishing off a slick passing move involving Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood.
United continued to dominate in the second half, with Chelsea unable to find their rhythm. Anthony Martial made it 3-0 in the 65th minute with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, and Daniel James rounded off the scoring in the 81st minute with a clinical finish after a swift counterattack.
The victory was a perfect start for new manager Erik ten Hag, who has quickly instilled his high-energy, attacking philosophy at Old Trafford. United will now look to build on this momentum when they travel to Brentford next Saturday.
