The Miami Heat entered the 2010 NBA free agency period with nearly $46 million in salary cap space. This gave them the ability to re-sign free agent Dwyane Wade and add two of the NBA's top players: LeBron James and Chris Bosh. These three players formed a "Big Three" that was expected to lead the Heat to their first NBA championship.
Regular Season
The Heat started the season strong, winning their first five games. However, they struggled with injuries throughout the season and finished with a record of 47-35. This was good for third place in the Southeast Division and the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Playoffs
The Heat faced the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. They lost the series in five games. This was a disappointing end to the season, but the Heat were still optimistic about the future with their "Big Three" intact.

The 2010 Miami Heat roster for the NBA regular season and playoffs is as follows:

- Chris Bosh
