Fullkrug strike earns 1-1 draw in World Cup clash
Spain and Germany shared the spoils in an entertaining match
Germany fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Spain in their World Cup clash on Sunday, with Niclas Fullkrug scoring a late equaliser to cancel out Alvaro Morata's opener.
Spain had the better of the chances in the first half, with Morata heading wide from close range before Dani Olmo forced a good save from Manuel Neuer.
Germany improved after the break, with Fullkrug going close on a number of occasions before finally finding the net with a powerful header from Joshua Kimmich's cross.
The draw leaves both teams with one point from their opening game, with Spain facing Japan and Germany taking on Costa Rica in their next matches.
