UK General Election 2024: What the Latest Polls Tell Us
Labour Extends Lead Over Conservatives as Election Nears
A new poll suggests that Labour is now leading the Conservatives by 20 points, with just over a month to go until the general election.
The poll, conducted by Opinium for the Observer, found that Labour is on 43%, while the Conservatives are on 23%. This is a significant increase in Labour's lead since the last poll, which was conducted in May and found that Labour was only leading by 10 points.
The poll also found that the Liberal Democrats are on 12%, the SNP are on 8%, the Greens are on 4%, and UKIP are on 3%. This is largely unchanged from the last poll.
The poll suggests that Labour is on course to win the general election, and that the Conservatives are facing an uphill battle to retain power. However, it is still too early to say with certainty what the result of the election will be.
