Verstappen Dominates Wet FP3 in Montreal

Max Verstappen took control of the soggy Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Saturday morning, leading the way in third and final practice session ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.

The reigning world champion set a blistering lap time of 1:12.549 around the 4.361-kilometer track, nearly half a second clear of his closest rival, Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes.

Hamilton, who holds a narrow championship lead over Verstappen, settled for second with a time of 1:13.031. However, the seven-time world champion will be disappointed not to have closed the gap to his rival in the wet conditions.

Rounding out the top three was Sergio Perez of Red Bull, who finished just 0.068 seconds behind Hamilton. Perez's strong performance suggests that Red Bull could be a threat to Mercedes' early-season dominance.

The Canadian Grand Prix qualifying session will take place later on Saturday, and Verstappen will be the man to beat after his impressive showing in FP3. Hamilton and the rest of the field will be desperate to dethrone the Dutchman, but Verstappen will be confident of extending his championship lead on Sunday.
